Player Biography

Muscular, energetic, and fiercely competitive, Mohammad Imran Randhawa is an all-rounder whose path to professional cricket was carved out through sheer physical determination. Born in Khanewal, Pakistan's Punjab province, his sporting foundation was rooted in kabaddi, a discipline that bestowed upon him explosive leg drive, stamina, and upper-body power. When he redirected his focus toward cricket, he brought that same fearless athleticism, evolving into a hard-hitting right-handed lower-order batter and a disciplined right-arm medium-fast bowler.

Randhawa's cricket journey began in earnest when he played under-19 cricket for Bahawalpur in 2013. A pivotal moment arrived in 2014 when former first-class cricketer Azhar Shafiq spotted his raw potential during a net session in Sindh. Encouraged to take the sport seriously, Randhawa advanced through Grade II cricket before making his first-class debut for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited during the 2015-16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Over the next few seasons, he developed into a dependable domestic workhorse, providing crucial depth with both bat and ball.

With the restructuring of domestic cricket, Randhawa became a key asset for Southern Punjab. His breakthrough campaign came in the 2019-20 National T20 Cup, where he finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker, flummoxing batters with deceptive changes of pace. His form earned him a call-up to Peshawar Zalmi during the 2020 PSL playoffs. Thrust into the pressure cooker of an eliminator, he launched a massive six off only the second delivery he faced and claimed the prized wicket of Ben Dunk, announcing his appetite for big-stage contests.

Randhawa sustained his momentum through domestic and overseas franchise stints, including appearances for Dhaka Dominators in Bangladesh. In September 2024, playing for the Markhors in the Champions One-Day Cup, he delivered a match-winning all-round performance against the Dolphins by taking 3 for 28 and contributing 27 vital runs. His consistent domestic output earned him selection for the Pakistan Shaheens in November 2024 against Sri Lanka A, followed by an appearance for the Shaheens against Afghanistan in a warm-up match ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The year 2026 brought the crowning moments of his career. Ahead of the 2026 PSL season, he was signed by Multan Sultans, bolstering their squad balance with reliable middle-overs bowling and lower-order pyrotechnics. In August 2026, Randhawa reached the pinnacle of his decade-long grind when he received his maiden senior Pakistan call-up for the Test tour of England as one of five uncapped players brought in to reinforce the national team.
