Born in Japan and raised in the Netherlands, Natalie Sciver-Brunt’s cricket journey took a decisive turn when she moved to England to pursue the sport professionally. After two standout seasons with Surrey (2012-2013), her talent earned her an England debut in 2014. That same year, she became one of the first 18 women cricketers awarded a central contract by the ECB, a landmark moment in the professionalization of the women’s game.

In 2018, she was a key figure in England’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies. In December 2021, she earned a spot in England's squad for the challenging Women's Ashes series in Australia. Her importance to the national side was further highlighted when she was named in England's squad for the 2022 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand the following February. The dynamic all-rounder's talents were also in high demand in domestic leagues, with Trent Rockets securing her services for the 2022 season of The Hundred, England's premier franchise competition.

The summer of 2022 proved monumental for Sciver-Brunt as she was appointed vice-captain for England's Commonwealth Games campaign in Birmingham, showcasing her growing leadership credentials. Her stellar performances across formats earned her the prestigious PCA Women's Player of the Year award, recognizing her twin World Cup centuries, a maiden Test ton against South Africa, and dominant displays in The Hundred for Trent Rockets.

The all-rounder continued rewriting record books in 2024, first with her selection for the T20 World Cup, then by smashing the fastest women's Test century (off just 96 balls) against South Africa that December. Though the 2025 Ashes tour proved challenging for both her and England, she bounced back spectacularly in the WPL. Re-signed by Mumbai Indians, Sciver-Brunt became the tournament's first 500-run scorer, with five fifties, while adding 12 wickets, showcasing her all-round prowess.

This phase of her career perfectly encapsulated Sciver-Brunt's duality - a big-match player for England and a franchise superstar capable of carrying teams single-handedly.
