Prema Rawat is an Indian women’s cricketer recognised for her all-round abilities as a right-handed batter and right-arm leg-break bowler. Hailing from Bageshwar in Uttarakhand, she grew up playing cricket in her village, where her natural athleticism and competitive spirit first came to the fore. With strong support from her family, Rawat steadily honed her skills in local cricket before breaking into the Uttarakhand women’s team, where she began to make a name for herself in domestic competitions through her wicket-taking leg-spin and useful lower-order hitting.

Her domestic performances, particularly in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, marked her out as one of the emerging talents in Indian women’s cricket. In the 2023 edition of the tournament, Rawat finished as the second-highest wicket-taker, picking up 16 wickets in 10 matches at an impressive economy rate. Those numbers underlined not only her ability to strike regularly, but also her control and game awareness. She further enhanced her reputation with strong showings in the Uttarakhand Premier League.

Rawat’s breakthrough into franchise cricket came at the Women’s Premier League auction ahead of the 2025 season, when she was signed by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 1.2 crore after a competitive bidding process. She showcased her leg-spin skills across the campaign, and although she was released ahead of the 2026 auction, RCB exercised their Right to Match option to rope her back in for INR 20 lakh. Head coach Malolan Rangarajan described Rawat as 'an Indian version of Georgia Wareham,' highlighting her impact as a leg-spinning all-rounder.

Beyond the WPL, Rawat has also featured for India A, where she impressed on tours such as the India A series in Australia, contributing with both wickets and valuable runs.
