A long chase for the Falcons - Despite double strikes from Shamar Springer and a wicket each for Jayden Seales, Moeen Ali and Shadab Khan, the late onslaught propelled St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to a daunting 187 for 6 in their 20 overs. The Falcons now face a tough target of 188 runs to secure a win on home turf.
Dynamic duo - The middle and death overs turned into absolute carnage as Dasun Shanaka went nuclear, smashing 49 off just 17 balls laced with 5 fours and 4 towering sixes. Supported by skipper Jason Holder’s steady 27 off 25 deliveries, the Patriots shifted into high gear late in the innings, collecting heavy runs against the Falcons' pace attack.
Mayers blitz, then Patriots collapse - Johnson Charles got things going with some early intent, striking a four and a six in a lively 17 off 14 balls, before falling to a sharp take behind the stumps off Jayden Seales, where Amir Jangoo did well to cling on after initially spilling a chance earlier in the same passage. That wicket brought Kyle Mayers to the crease alongside the ever-reliable Andre Fletcher, who started things steadily but failed to capitalize on it. However, it was Kyle Mayers who triggered the scoreline, with a blitz of 34 runs off 18 balls, but after his wicket things changed and wickets started falling. The scoreline went from 76 for 1 to 80 for 4.
Patriots wobble early - Antigua and Barbuda Falcons won the toss and chose to field first under lights at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, and early signs suggest the decision could pay off. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have made a watchful start, sitting at 23/1 after four overs.

FOUR!! Supreme shot! Much fuller, on the off stump. Dasun Shanaka drills it toward the left of the bowler, and beats the mid off fielder for four more runs.
SIX! Up, up and over! Back of a length, around the hips of the batter. Dasun Shanaka swipes it aerially and sails it over deep square leg for a biggie.
FOUR! Shot of authority! Short of a length, angling in, toward the batter. Dasun Shanaka pulls it hard toward deep square leg and gets the boundary.

Winning skipper of ABF - Moeen Ali says they batted well and played an extra batter and reckons that the partnership between Lewis and Nawaz was good, and so was Shadab’s contribution. He says they played good shots and once you are in, it is nice to play with the wind. They stayed in the game and did not panic or go hard too early. He adds that they can be better with the ball, and the last 4-5 overs is something they are working on and they want to make this a fortress and make themselves hard to beat. He calls the crowd amazing for backing them all the way.
Losing skipper of SKNP - Jason Holder says it was a good game. They hung in there as long as possible, but they kept their spinners out of the game with a left-right combination. Jason adds that the effort was commendable, but the execution could have been better. Holder says Hasaranga was put under pressure in his first over and Waqar was hit around in the last but there are a lot of positives. They need to find a way to pick themselves up, but they have a home leg coming up and that is important. Jason reckons that they cannot drop their heads, they are coming along nicely but have not closed down matches and the focus is to just hang in, stay tight and do well at home.
POTM - Shadab Khan wins the award for picking up 1 for 22 and playing a crisp hand of 30 off 12 balls. Shadab Khan says he has been busy, having played a List A final, then traveled back to Islamabad and had a long journey here and informs that he came around four-ish and played a game. So he thinks he is still in jet lag and is not sure how it is. On dealing with the wind, he says when he was bowling he saw it was too much and very quick, so he was trying to bowl on a wider line and as a bowler, he knew the opponents would go on the wider side, so he was trying to hit it on the leg side more often than not. He feels his line and length were impressive because on these types of tracks you need a consistent area to hit, and he varied the pace very well as well.

The Patriots' innings got off to a mixed start as Jayden Seales dismissed Johnson Charles for 17, but Kyle Mayers injected momentum by blazing 34 off 18 balls before falling to Moeen Ali. A mid-innings slump followed when Andre Fletcher was run out after a mix-up with Kevin Wickham, who himself was soon bowled by Shadab Khan. Jason Holder and Nikhil Chaudhary steadied the ship with a 46-run 5th-wicket partnership, but both fell in quick succession to Shamar Springer, who finished as the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 42. Just as the Falcons looked to restrict the score, Shanaka launched an all-out assault, smashing an unbeaten 49 off a mere 17 deliveries. His explosive final over against Alzarri Joseph yielded 24 runs, ensuring the Patriots walked back at the halfway stage with a distinct psychological advantage.
Patriots rue expensive bowling and poor fielding- Conversely, it was a night to forget for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots' bowling unit, which struggled extensively with discipline and leaked runs across all phases. While Kyle Mayers and skipper Jason Holder picked up two wickets apiece, and the duo of Obed McCoy and Waqar Salamkheil chipped in with one wicket each, the Patriots were left to rue a significant tactical error. After an expensive opening over from Wanindu Hasaranga, Holder made the questionable decision to completely pull the star spinner out of the attack. Given Hasaranga’s proven pedigree and knack for bouncing back, shielding him backfired heavily, leaving the remaining bowlers exposed as the Falcons roared to a historic win.
Middle-order carries Falcons over the line - With the perfect platform laid by the top order, the Falcons' middle-order stepped up to ensure the hard work did not go to waste. Evin Lewis anchored the innings perfectly, top-scoring with a commanding 48 runs, while the rest of the lineup contributed vital, high-impact cameos. Crisp and timely knocks from Shadab Khan, Moeen Ali, and Shamar Springer kept the scoreboard ticking rapidly during pressure situations. Thanks to this cohesive and aggressive batting display, the Falcons successfully overhauled the target with three wickets in hand and three balls to spare, sealing a splendid and memorable victory.
Falcons script history - The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons created history at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in CPL by successfully pulling off the highest run-chase ever recorded at the venue. Tasked with tracking down a daunting target of 188, the Falcons' pursuit got off to a shaky start when opener Amir Jangoo departed early. However, the early setback did not deter the chasing side, as Evin Lewis and Hasan combined for a spectacular 78-run partnership. This crucial second-wicket stand systematically dismantled the opposition's plans, shifting the momentum completely and setting an ideal foundation for the rest of the batting order to play freely and keep up with the steep required run rate.
