SIX! Trent Boult to MS Dhoni. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep backward square leg for 6 runs. What a way to finish, back to back maximums and all of a sudden CSK have an impressive total.

It was a sluggish start for CSK but some brutal hitting in the last ten overs has launched them up to 179/4. Suresh Raina got the ball rolling with his 50th T20 fifty, before MS Dhoni took over with a swashbuckling 44 at a strike rate of 200. The innings had started so well for Delhi with Shane Watson removed for a duck, however they leaked boundaries regularly at the death. It will be a tough chase for the Capitals, it's going to be a gripping second innings.

SIX! Trent Boult to MS Dhoni. Off cutter back of a length, to leg on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Wow, outrageous hitting by the legendary MSD. He is proving there is plenty of life left in him yet.

  • 18.6

SIX! Chris Morris to MS Dhoni. Beamer, to leg on the back foot hooking, well timed in the air under control to fine leg for 1 run. Oh dear, this has gone horribly wrong for Morris. He apologises straight away, the ball must've slipped out of his grasp and ended up as a head high beamer. Dhoni deals with it in nonchalant fashion.

  • 18.5

Chris Morris to Ambati Rayudu. Slower ball half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid on for 1 run, fielded by Boult.

  • 18.4

FOUR! Chris Morris to Ambati Rayudu. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. How about that for a confident start? Rayudu isn't in the mood for wasting any time it seems as he nails a filthy swipe first ball.

  • 18.3

OUT! Caught & Bowled. Chris Morris to Ravindra Jadeja. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket, by Morris. That's a superb catch, Morris ended up having to charge after it himself with nobody else able to make up the necessary ground. Wonderful athleticism to gobble it up over his shoulder and send Jadeja on his way.

  • 18.2

Chris Morris to MS Dhoni. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to deep extra cover for 1 run, fielded by Dhawan.

  • 18.1

FOUR! Chris Morris to MS Dhoni. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, inside edge past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. I'm not sure that's exactly where MSD was aiming to hit the ball, he won't mind though because it's more valuable runs for his team.

  • 17.6

SIX! Trent Boult to Ravindra Jadeja. Length ball, off stump Deep in crease driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs. FOUR! Trent Boult to MS Dhoni. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs. You can't bowl that length with fine leg up in the circle, Dhoni will feast upon it without a moment of hesitation.

  • 16.3

FOUR! Chris Morris to MS Dhoni. Off cutter short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Dhoni just waits on the slower ball and swats it with disdain. He said he isn't 100 better from his illness at the toss, that stroke suggests otherwise.

FOUR! Axar Patel to Ravindra Jadeja. Stock length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. You've got to feel for the bowler here, he should've had a wicket previous ball and this time he has bamboozled the batsman completely. Fortune is smiling on Jadeja.

  • 15.5

SIX! Axar Patel to Ravindra Jadeja. Stock length ball, down leg side on the front foot slog sweeping, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled over deep backward square leg for 6 runs, dropped catch by Rutherford. Oh dear, Rutherford has made a real mess of this. Jadeja struck the ball hard but flat and the Guyanese batsman should have done better after getting two hands to the ball. In the end he palmed it over the ropes, six more for the hosts.

    அமித் மிஸ்ரா c MS Dhoni b Imran Tahir 8 (11)

OUT! Caught. Imran Tahir to Amit Mishra. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Dhoni.

Chennai Super Kings have destroyed Delhi Capitals by 80 runs in a dominant home display to virtually seal a spot in the top two. They started slowly upon being inserted before exploding at the death, with talisman skipper MS Dhoni blasting a brutal 44 and Suresh Raina making a quality half century. In contrast, Delhi's innings started brightly with runs flowing during the powerplay and Shreyas Iyer looking in prime touch. However, once the spinners started to find some turn the visiting batsmen were left clueless as the Capitals capitulated in remarkable fashion. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3/9 while Imran Tahir scooped 4/12, with MSD chipping in a couple of audacious stumpings. Another crucial match is on the cards for tomorrow, when Mumbai Indians take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium.

    ஷ்ரேயஸ் ஐயர் st MS Dhoni b Ravindra Jadeja 44 (31)

OUT! Stumped. Ravindra Jadeja to Shreyas Iyer. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper, by Dhoni. Oh my word, he's done it again. This is even better than the previous stumping, he had the smallest fraction of a second to get the bails off and Dhoni did it with typical cool style. Iyer played nicely but he's been beaten by some fantastic cricket there.

  • 11.5

Ravindra Jadeja to Jagadeesha Suchith. Stock ball half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to deep cover for 1 run, fielded by Jadhav.

OUT! Stumped. Ravindra Jadeja to Chris Morris. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, missed to wicketkeeper, fielded by Dhoni. Capitals are collapsing in a heap now, the ball is turning appreciably and their batsmen can't handle it. It's casual brilliance from MSD, whipping the bails off in a flash while the batsman's foot is briefly airborne. CSK strolling towards a huge victory.

  • 11.3

Ravindra Jadeja to Shreyas Iyer. Stock ball half volley, off stump on the front foot dropped, to point for 1 run, fielded by Watson.
