Plunkett gets his revenge, Tye finding a thin edge through to the keeper from the final ball of the over and Plunkett finishes the innings with three wickets. It leaves Australia 214 all out and England will be more than happy with that effort in the field, it could have been more one-sided with the score at 90-5 but 214 is still plenty short of a good total on this ground. England were good with the ball and will need to be disciplined with the bat to make this chase easy for them, Australia have an extra bowler in their line-up which may give them a few more angles to go at should England settle into rhythm. It was a poor batting performance from Australia, the top-order in particular gave their wickets away and they're left facing a tough task to save this match now at this point.

Willey launches a lovely six down the ground to wrap up the victory and finish on 35 not out. A vital innings in the end after England looked to have built themselves into a comfortable position. It's a good win for England although both sides were clearly far from perfect today, both sides didn't bat well enough and threw wickets away without need. Root and Morgan's partnership was the pivotal one, pulling England back, first into the game and then into a commanding position for victory after a blistering start from Australia. England will take confidence in securing victory despite not being at their best, they are unstoppable on their day but it's days like today where they can still claim victory despite not being at their best. For Australia, their batting clearly wasn't up to scratch, at 90-5 they held slim chances of victory and they did well from that point onwards. They showed fight and character and will most certainly give England a good competition for the rest of this series. The two English spinners were the pick of the bowler's today, Ali and Rashid kept things tight in the middle and picked up wickets that helped keep Australia's first innings total low. England take a 1-0 lead in the five match series.
