OUT! Bowled. Khaleel Ahmed to Tim Southee. Off cutter length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed to.

A much improved Indian bowling display has limited New Zealand to just 158/8 in Auckland. Bhuvneshwar Kumar found prodigious movement early in the innings but it was Krunal Pandya that did the bulk of the damage. His three wicket burst put the Kiwis on the back foot before Colin de Grandhomme launched a counter-attack with his first T20I fifty. The tourists dried up the boundaries towards the death with lots of deliveries in the blockhole, meaning they will need less than eight runs per over to square the series.

Khaleel Ahmed to Tim Southee. Half volley, off stump on the front foot flick, to long on for 2 runs, fielded by Pandya.

OUT! Bowled. Khaleel Ahmed to Mitchell Santner. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. Dragged on, Santner was swinging hard but lost his shape and the ball cannons into middle stump via the inside edge. Khaleel has been good tonight, that's his first wicket and he has the chance for more in this final over.

OUT! Run Out. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mitchell Santner. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, to long on for 1 run, direct hit by Shankar. Superb throw from the deep, Shankar with the rocket-arm to catch Taylor well short of the crease. Taylor was charging back to the non-striker's end to try and retain strike for the final over, but he can't make it despite the dive. India have really dried up the runs since the wicket of de Grandhomme.

  • 17.1

FOUR! Hardik Pandya to Ross Taylor. Half volley, off stump on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Taylor splits the men in the deep with a ferocious whip of the wrists. The hosts need a few more of those in these death overs.

  • 15.4

OUT! Caught. Hardik Pandya to Colin de Grandhomme. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to extra cover, by Sharma. Skewed straight to Rohit, that's his second simple catch of the evening and it breaks the big partnership. The bat twisted in de Grandhomme's hands as he made contact so there was no power on the ball. That was a really important knock but de Grandhomme will be disappointed he couldn't finish the innings with a flourish.

  • 15.3

Hardik Pandya to Colin de Grandhomme. Half volley, off stump on the front foot working, to deep mid wicket for 2 runs, fielded by Karthik. Fifty for de Grandhomme, his first ever in T20I cricket has come at a vital time for the Kiwis.

FOUR! Scott Kuggeleijn to Rishabh Pant. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long on for 4 runs.

India have beaten New Zealand by 7 wickets at Eden Park to square the T20I series at 1-1. The tourists were much improved in all facets from their performance in Wellington, however it was their bowlers who set up this victory by limiting the in-form Kiwi batsmen. Krunal Pandya removed three dangerous players with his wily spin, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar nailed his yorkers after finding lots of swing early. In the runchase, Rohit Sharma set the tone with a brutal half century before Rishabh Pant finished the job in style. The Black Caps weren't quite at their best in Auckland today, despite a counter-attacking maiden T20I fifty from Colin de Grandhomme and a fiery spell from Lockie Ferguson. That means we are set up nicely for the decider in Hamilton on Sunday.

  • 16.3

SIX! Tim Southee to Rishabh Pant. Slower length ball, down leg side on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. What a ridiculous stroke, Pant is a serious talent. His bottom hand comes off the handle as he makes contact with this yet he still clears the rope by a distance. Audacious by the young left-hander.
