What a comprehensive victory that turned out to be for New Zealand. Things were delicately poised when the rains came pouring down in Nelson, but the reduced overs situation allowed Martin Guptill to unleash with freedom and smash the Kiwis home. Earlier in the day there was an impressive bowling display from the hosts, all of their bowlers chipping in as Pakistan helped their own demise with some dodgy strokes. A counter-attacking fightback by Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan was entertaining but not enough for the visitors in the end. That means the Black Caps go 2-0 up in the series, leaving the tourists with it all to do in the remaining three matches.
