APPEAL! Aamer Yamin to Tim Southee. Half volley, outside off stump moves in front driving, to long on for 2 runs, fielded by Hafeez, mis-fielded by Yamin, appeal made for Run Out. A fumble from the bowler and de Grandhomme is able to make it back for the second with the dive.
New Zealand finish on 271-7 from their allocated overs which could be a challenging total on this surface. Initially 300+ looked on the cards but as the slower bowlers came on batting got harder and harder. Martin Guptill batted wonderfully and made his 13th ODI century while Ross Taylor joined him in the middle with a splendid fifty of his own. Their partnership of 112 set up for some quick runs at the end but unfortunately that didn't pay off, all credit to the bowlers for some brilliant death bowling. New Zealand finally get the last wicket which they have been searching for. Pakistan's lower-order was pushing them all the way but unfortunately they run out of steam. In the end they only lost by 15 runs but when they were 57-4 they must have thought getting this close would never happen. Haris Sohail and Shadab Khan pulled them firmly back into the game with a 105 run partnership and then carnage from the last three batsman nearly got them over the line.
New Zealand take the series 5-0 on the back of 4-53 from Matt Henry on his comeback and 3-40 from Mitchell Santner who was superb. All eyes now move onto the T20 series where Pakistan will be hoping to get their first win on tour but they are coming up against the number one T20 team so it won't be easy. See you then.
