We are back for the run chase. The umpires are back out in the middle and so are the players of England. The two Pakistani openers, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, are also out there, in the changed pink jersey that the hosts are wearing today to raise awareness for Cancer. Gus Atkinson has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's play...

    ... The Run Chase ...

Duckett's ton headlines England's innings - Well, there's not much to write about England's batting, and after scoring 429 in the last game, their top-order crumbled to 52/4 inside the first 10 overs. However, one man stood tall, and that was Ben Duckett. He rebuilt England's innings alongside Sam Curran, mustering up 93 runs together. He then went on to score a fine century as the visitors started to crumble again. Curran's 42 and Gus Atkinson's late unbeaten cameo of 36 took England close to the 250-run mark. Right then, 242 is what Pakistan need to win and cement their place in the final, and given how the surface has played, it seems like a straightforward chase. However, with England looking to avoid a hat-trick of defeats in this tri-series, expect England's bowlers to come hard at the batters. Stay tuned as the exciting run chase is coming up in a bit.

Skipper leading from the front - It was Shaheen Afridi's day out in the middle with the ball as he finished with a four-fer. He was the one to draw first blood, picking up two wickets in the Powerplay, he was also the one to break a big stand when his side seemed to be on the back foot, and eventually, he was the one to close out the innings as well. Apart from Afridi, Razaullah came back well on his debut, ending up with a couple of wickets. Also, Arafat Minhas' late introduction was fruitful, as he too picked up a couple of huge wickets, which begs the question - why he wasn't he brought on to bowl a lot earlier, when England were on the back foot just after the first Powerplay? Shadab Khan bowled decently without picking up a wicket, whereas Haris Rauf was a tad expensive and the part-timers couldn't make much of an impact.

Pakistan with one foot in the final - Overall, a very solid outing for Shaheen Afridi and co. in the field, and they have kept England down to what looks like an under-par total on the board. Still, the hosts will feel it could have been an even lower total on the board, but they let things slip on a couple of occasions. As for England, their final batting pair has given them something to bowl at, but will it be enough? Not sure about that.

  • 46.4

OUT! FANTASTIC CATCH! Shaheen wraps it up with a spectacular four-for. England have been bowled out for 241! Afridi stays around the stump and lands it on a good length, on the off stump. Henry Crocombe backs away to make room and tries to smash it over mid off, but the ball certainly holds up a bit and hence, he gets no timing on the shot. Chips it off the toe end of the bat to the left of mid off. Babar Azam moves across and takes a well-judged catch while running. That's his third catch of the innings. The hosts are delighted, England not very much as they have been restricted to a par score in Lahore.

  • 46.3

Short of a length, just outside off, Henry stays leg side and chops it to cover.

  • 46.2

Another attempted yorker on the stumps, Atkinson shovels it through covers for a single. The partnership is worth 40 runs now.

  • 46.1

A yorker from around the stumps, Gus charges forward and carves it back to the bowler.

  • 45.6

Fractionally short on off, turning it in. Crocombe rocks back and jams it across to mid-wicket, where the fielder makes a sharop stop down to his right.

  • 45.5

Full and straight, wristed away through mid-wicket for a run.

  • 45.4

Pushed through flatter now and around off. Atkinson presses back and stabs it out to extra cover.

  • 45.3

And again! Full nd on the pads, Gus leans on and clips it straight to short fine leg.

  • 45.2

Flighted ball, drifting it down leg, Atkinson tickles it down to short fine leg.

  • 45.1

Tossed up, very full and just outside off. Atkinson waits back before extending his arms and drilling it wide off sweeper cover for a couple of quick runs. There's a late umpire review for a run out as well. Replays show that the ball spilled out of Shadab's hands and went on to dislodge the bails, but Crocombe was safely back home.

  • 0.0

Last 5 overs to go. This partnership is frustrating the hosts now as it is worth 36 runs. Atkinson is playing a really crucial hand here.

  • 44.6

A bumper now, banged in over the stumps, and Crocombe ducks nicely under it. 12 off the over, and England inch closer to the 250-run mark.

  • 44.5

Pace off, on a good length and at the stumps. Atkinson nudges it gently to the leg side and picks up a single.

  • 44.4

Full and speared in at the toes, Atkinson jams it down to wide long on for two more runs. He's now moved into the 30s.

  • 44.3

SIX! Gus Atkinson continues to frustrate Pakistan, and what a shot this is! Slower one, pitched up on middle and leg, angling it in. Gus takes the front leg out and plays a checked lofted drive, nailing it over long on for a six.

  • 44.2

Pitched up on middle, Atkinson plays a lofted drive, off the inside half of the blade and to the left of long on for a couple of runs more.

  • 44.1

Bowled from around the wicket, full and on off. Afridi gets the ball to reverse away a bit. Crocombe punches it back and Afridi gets a right hand on it in his followthrough but parries it behind for a single.

  • 0.0

Shaheen Afridi (7-0-33-3) is back on, replacing Arafat Minhas.

  • 43.6

A slider now, drifting into the legs. Crocombe leans on and flicks it off the inside edge towards leg gully for a single.

  • 43.5

Pushed through flatter around off, and it is the wrong one. Crocombe rocks back and keeps it out.

  • 43.4

Floated up around middle, clipped away through wide mid on for a single.

  • 43.3

Nicely looped up, landing it right on the popping crease on off stump. Gus Atkinson jams it off the inside edge and back onto the pads.

  • 43.2

Tossed up on off and middle, Crocombe gets halfway forward and strokes it down to long on, rotating the strike.

  • 43.1

Full and flat, at the stumps. Atkinson squeezes it off the inside edge and past square leg for a single.

  • 0.0

Shadab Khan (5-0-24-0) replaces Haris Rauf.

Signing off from a memorable evening - Who said ODI cricket is losing its charm? This was no run fest with boundaries served on a platter. It was a proper, old-school contest, the kind that would leave longtime fans feeling a touch nostalgic. Pakistan have marched into the final of this ODI tri-series with three wins from three, carrying plenty of confidence into the title clash after sneaking in through the back door in this one. England, on the other hand, are not entirely out of the race, but they now hang on by the thinnest of threads, with plenty of terms and conditions attached to the other results needing to fall their way, and of course, winning their last match against the Islanders is now non-negotiable. This defeat will sting, especially given how the final hour unfolded. Yet England's batters must also take their share of the blame for leaving too many runs out on the field today. Up next, Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka on Tuesday, 27th October, and the first ball is scheduled to be bowled at 8 am GMT. But our buildup begins well in advance. So mark your presence for that as well. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Take care, cheers!

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Any guesses? Well, it is not a tough one. Deservedly, Shadab Khan takes home the award for an innings of a lifetime - an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls, laced with 13 fours and 5 sixes.

Green glowed in pink - Pakistan, donning pink kits for a special cause, were razor-sharp with ball in hand and even sharper in the field, swallowing every chance that came their way. England were left reeling at 52 for 4, undone by a mix of loose strokes and a needless run out that sent Harry Brook packing. Ben Duckett, though, refused to let the innings fold. He kept England ticking at a healthy rate, even as wickets tumbled at the other end. Sam Curran and Will Jacks offered useful hands, but Pakistan refused to loosen their grip, striking at regular intervals. Duckett eventually brought up a well-crafted century, only to fall soon after. Had Atkinson not thrown his bat around for a rapid 36, England might well have been bundled out beneath 200. For Pakistan, it was a bowling effort of real control. Shaheen Afridi set the tone with four wickets, while Arafat Minhas kept batters guessing with his variations to claim two. Razaullah marked his ODI debut with a couple of scalps as well, capping a thoroughly professional display.

Never say never - As the cliched saying goes in this beautiful sport - it is not over until the final ball is bowled, and it fits in here just as perfectly. England's bowlers did their job admirably. But in a contest this tight, the 20 balls lost during their own innings proved to be the difference in the end. At 154/9, with just under a hundred still needed, Shadab Khan stood tall against the tide. No mug with the bat, as everyone knows, and when his team needed him most, he produced the innings of his life. England seemed to lose their way under pressure after bowling brilliantly until Shadab walked in, but full credit must go to Shadab and Haris Rauf. Their shot selection and decision-making in the heat of the moment were nothing short of remarkable. Shadab produced an outrageous century, but Haris Rauf, with just 7 to his name in a stand worth 89, played one of the most pivotal roles of all. He simply survived and kept giving the strike to Shadab. And in the end, it was Rauf who hit the winning runs to seal the deal.

Down on the mat - Pakistan found England in no mood to hand out freebies. Atkinson and debutant Crocombe kept landing the ball on a postage stamp, and the rewards arrived almost immediately. Babar, despite a couple of elegant drives, soon made his way back, and with the top three gone, Pakistan were wobbling at 31 for 3. Saad Baig tried to take the game on, racing to 32 laced with boundaries, but Overton found a way through him, twisting the knife that little bit further. It would be a disservice to the game not to give Overton his due. He bowled a marathon spell, battling through a troublesome right knee, yet kept hammering away at the batters. The rewards followed, with the all-rounder finishing with three wickets to his name. Dawson chipped in at the other end as well, dismissing Hasan Nawaz and Salman Agha to keep England in command of their defence.

Pakistan hop into the finale - What a turnaround this has been! Absolutely nobody saw it coming. The Pakistan players pour out of the dressing room, embracing and beaming as they surround Shadab Khan, congratulating him on a truly mighty effort. This surely has to be one of the best comebacks in ODI cricket. Take a moment for England. This must feel like a cruel case of deja vu. After failing to defend 429 against Sri Lanka, they once again saw a match slip through their fingers. Tonight, despite posting an underwhelming total on the board, they had the game firmly in control, yet somehow let it wriggle free. Another win turned into heartbreak. And they are almost knocked out of the final race in this ODI tri-series.

  • 47.1

FOUR! GAME. SET. MATCH! What a sensational heist from Pakistan. Written off, down and seemingly out, they have somehow got the job done. Pakistan win by 1 wicket! Young and old are on their feet in the stands, dancing and soaking in a truly remarkable turnaround. Crocombe serves one full on the off-stump line, right in the slot with the field up. Rauf stays leg side of it and hammers it straight back past the bowler, who has no time to react. The ball rifles past his left and races to the boundary like a bullet. Sensational stuff, sensational cricket.

  • 0.0

Pakistan need just 3 runs to win from 16 balls. Another heartbreak loading for England, but it is Rauf on strike now. Is there any other twist left in the game? Henry Crocombe is into the attack.

  • 46.6

SIX! OUTRAGEOUS BATTING FROM SHADAB! A genuine half-volley, around the off stump, Shadab Khan stays leg side of the ball and powerfully smokes it over the long off fence for a cracking six. Pakistan are almost there now.

  • 46.5

Another low full toss, outside leg. Shadab backs away, and he can only get an inside half on the flick, sending it towards short mid-wicket.

  • 46.4

Goes for a yorker, but ends up as a low full toss on the leg stump. This is worked away by Shadab towards short mid-wicket. Rauf, caught a little too far from home, has to scamper back to his crease.

  • 46.3

FOUR! Finds the gap once again! Gus slips in a full toss on the stumps, Shadab Khan accepts the gift gleefully and whips it to deep backward square leg for a boundary. Pakistan need just 9 runs to win now. Just a couple of hits away from a famous win.

  • 46.2

FOUR! Gets it through and that will be a HUNDRED FOR SHADAB KHAN! From just 92 balls. This is his 1st century in any format for Pakistan! A yorker just outside off is met with a low crouch by Shadab, with the bat face open at the point of contact, and the ball is neatly steered between backward point and short third for a four. The hosts are cruising home now. Lahore is up on its feet to admire this insane knock from Shadab Khan.

  • 46.1

Run out chance, missed! A direct hit and Rauf was gone! Shadab retains the strike. Over the wicket, the full ball on the stumps is bunted towards mid on, and Rauf takes off for a risky run. The fielder slips at the crucial moment, and his backhand flick has neither power nor direction, letting Rauf scramble home safely.

  • 0.0

Absolute scenes in Lahore. Rauf is in the umpire's face, giving him a proper earful, before Root steps in to calm things down.

  • 45.6

A bouncer from Curran. It sails over Shadab's head as he ducks beneath it, but the square leg umpire keeps his arm down. Shadab is visibly furious with the call, and Haris Rauf has lost his cool at the other end as well.

  • 0.0

Oh, my goodness! Shadab is struggling. He has pulled his groin but he is ready to go.

  • 45.5

Risky! A yorker angled into the off stump line, with two slips and a short leg in place. Rauf opens the bat face and steers it wide of deep cover for a single. Shadab sets off for the second but slips while turning, overstretches and appears to pull his groin slightly.

  • 45.4

A bit too full and around off, Shadab caresses it to long off for a single. The throw comes in towards the striker's end as Rauf scrambles to make his ground. Cox dives to his right and gathers it cleanly to back it up. Shadab is on 99 and Pakistan need 19 runs to win!

  • 45.3

Tails into the pads, from middle to leg, full n length, at pace. Shadab misses the flick and the ball deflects away to short fine leg off the front pad.

  • 45.2

Beaten! Off-pace delivery, on a good length, just outside off. Shadab has a massive swing to carve it over point, bt he is beaten on the outside edge. Two dots in a row. Shadab won't mind it at all.

  • 45.1

Slower off-cutter, on a good length, on off. Shadab waits back and taps it to the cover region.

  • 0.0

Last 5 overs. This ain't over yet, folks. Pakistan need 20 runs from 30 balls. Sam Curran continues...

  • 44.6

Root moves in at short leg, helmet on and braced for the close catch. Rauf, though, has other ideas. He leans into a full delivery and creams it straight to the fielder at mid off, holding his pose with all the swagger of a man in complete control.

  • 44.5

Too full on the stumps, Shadab shovels it down to the left of long on for a single.

  • 44.4

Speared full and around off, Shadab drives it to mid off.

  • 44.3

Nails the yorker in, on off, Shadab carves it straight to the left of the bowler.

  • 44.2

Would you believe it? Absolute drama in Lahore! Atkinson goes for the yorker, angling it into the leg stump. Shadab shuffles across but misses the flick, with the ball thudding into his front pad. The appeal is huge, and the umpire raises his finger. Shadab, visibly gutted at falling for 97, begins to walk off, but with this being the last wicket, he sends it upstairs. Just as England prepare to celebrate, drama strikes. UltraEdge detects a spike as the ball passes the bat, meaning it is not out. The review saves him, and the tension in Lahore goes up another notch. Agony and ecstasy have flipped in the space of a few moments.

  • 0.0

Is Shadab trapped in front? The celebrations have already begun in the English camp. Oh goodness me! The UltraEdge shows a big spike when the ball is next to the bat. Shadab lives to fight on.

  • 0.0

Brook walks up to Atkinson to have a chat and calm his nerves a bit.
