We are back for the chase. The umpires are back out in the middle, and so are the players of Southern Brave, who form a huddle before taking their places on the field. Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Hayley Matthews will open the innings for MI London. Lauren Bell will take the new ball as usual for the Brave. Let's go...
... The Run Chase ...
Set up perfectly for a first win of the season? MI London Women have done a very tidy job with the ball and it is now up to their batters to hit their strides and get the win. Nicola Carey and Hayley Matthews were miserly throughout the innings and Matthews in particular was at her best. She picked up four wickets and she was the one who started that late comeback by dismissing Rodrigues. MI picked up 5 wickets in the last 5 sets, giving away less than run-a-ball during that period. Interestingly, not a single six was hit in the first innings, as the boundaries have been pushed out a bit more today. Can MI London go on and break Southern Brave's streak? Or will the Brave's bowlers get them over the line again? Let's find out, as the run chase is up next.
Let's hear from Brave's star batter - Jemimah Rodrigues says it was a much better batting surface than the one they played on in the first game. Shares that hitting square of the wicket wasn't easy. On batting alongside Laura Wolvaardt, Rodrigues says they both love running between the wickets and enjoy batting together because they understand each other's game so well. Mentions that her approach was to stay positive through her running and shot selection. Rodrigues feels it isn't quite a par score but believes it is a fighting total. She says the key now is to strike with a few early wickets and stay sharp and disciplined in the field.
Not quite free-flowing - After being asked to bat first, the Brave have put on another slightly underwhelming display with the bat. Maia Bouchier did roar back to form with a quickfire 30-odd up top, but Lizelle Lee fell early, and Laura Wolvaardt was sluggish for the best part of her innings. Jemimah Rodrigues remained busy and stitched together a 60-run stand with Wolvaardt. But just when both of them started to flow together, the wickets started to fall. They managed to muster up just 22 runs in the final 25 balls, and that difference of 15-20 runs could be telling.
Advantage MI London at the interval - A brilliant spell with the ball for the visitors towards the end, and they have managed to restrict Southern Brave to 126/7. The Brave will feel they have left a few runs out there, but with their bowling attack, it will still feel defendable.
Three dots in a row to close out the innings. Southern Brave Women finish on 126/7. Bowled on a length, outside off. Glenn stays beside the line of the ball and flashes at it but can only connect with thin air.
Another dot. Low full toss, outside off. Glenn has a swoosh at it but misses once again.

OUT! STUMPED! Sharp work by Kira Chathli. Seam-up ball by Carey, on the fuller side, on middle and leg. Wong steps out and ends up yorking herself. She fails to squeeze it out, and the ball goes behind. Kira Chathli is standing up to the stumps and anticipates well. She gets low to her left to gather the ball and is quick to whip the bails off with Wong at a point of no return.
Full and across off. Naomi Dattani throws her hands at the ball. Ekes out an inside edge onto the pads. It rolls away beside the strip on the off side. They cross.
Nicola Carey will close out the innings.
Shorter and on middle. Dattani hangs back and nudges it through square leg. The short fine leg gets around and slides but cannot pick the ball up in one go and the batters sneak in a second run. End of a superb outing with the ball for Hayley Matthews. She finishes with figures of 20-0-22-4.
Not in control but safe. Full and fired in, attacking the front pad. Datani goes hard on the sweep but can't roll her wrists over the ball. A top edge is found and it evades the back tracking short fine leg fielder. Danni Wyatt-Hodge comes in from the deep and tidies up. Two taken.

OUT! CAUGHT! Hayley Matthews strikes again. Matthews floats it up on leg stump. Jodi Grewcock brings out the reverse sweep but the ball isn't all that full and the top edge is found. The ball lobs up over point, where Tara Norris turns back, takes a few steps towards the ball and pouches it safely. A four-fer here for Matthews as the Brave continue to stumble.
Dropped short, on middle. Wong pulls it towards wide long on for a single.
The next batter is Issy Wong and not Naomi Dattani, interesting.
OUT! STUMPED! Hayley Matthews picks up another key wicket. Darted in on a good length from around the wicket. Sophie Molineux gives the bowler the premeditated charge and swings at it but is beaten on the inside edge. The keeper, Kira Chathli is unsighted by the batter standing in front of her but she moves to her right to gather the ball. The ball pops out of Kira's grasp on the first attempt, but she keeps her cool and catches the ball in her right mitt. She goes on to break the stumps, and Molinuex is found short despite her attempt to slide the bat in.
Hayley Matthews will bowl the penultimate set of the innings.
FOUR! Jodi Grewcock gets it away! This is on the shorter side, on middle. Grewcock picks up the length early and presses back to pull it flat and wide of deep square leg to her left for her first boundary.
Pushes the length up and this is across off. Sophie Molineux walks across to the off side and gets low to play the scoop. Toe-ends it behind square leg for just a single.
Seemed to be the slower one, fuller and on leg. Grewcock turns it in front of square on the leg side and crosses over.
Hits the back of a length, on middle and leg. Molinuex pulls it square on the leg side and rotates the strike.
On middle and leg, on a length. Jodi clips it through mid-wicket for a single.
Nicola Carey returns to the attack.
Beaten! Another googly by Kerr, across off, on a good length. Jodi Grewcock lunges for the block but is beaten by the turn and the bounce.

OUT! CASTLED! Amelia Kerr gets her reward for some brave bowling. Not afraid to toss it up, is Kerr. Dishes out the googly, full and at the sticks. Wolvaardt attempts the slog sweep but the ball lands and spins past the inside edge. It goes through the gap between the bat and the pad to crash into the stumps. Wolvaardt perishes after she had managed to find a bit of momentum into her innings.
On to the men - A fourth straight win for Southern Brave against MI London in the women’s competition, and a third straight defeat of the season for Hollie Armitage’s side. Earlier in the game - After Brave were asked to bat first, Maia Bouchier started promisingly, but it remained just that, with her unable to convert it into a substantial score. Jemimah Rodrigues, as always, was busy from the moment she arrived at the crease, while Laura Wolvaardt struggled for fluency early on before finding her rhythm, only for her stay to be cut short. Brave had laid the platform to conjure up the desired finish, but the absence of a set batter at the back end hurt them. They managed just 22 runs in the final 25 balls while losing five wickets and had to settle for 126.
Brave ace another defence - Chasing 127 was never going to be as straightforward as it might have seemed, given Southern Brave's prowess with the ball and the fact that the boundaries had been pushed back for this game. Danni Wyatt-Hodge was starved of the strike during the Powerplay and for much of the first half of the innings. She eventually found her rhythm, and the arrival of Hollie Armitage helped ease some of the pressure off her. The equation came down to 18 needed from the final 15 balls with 8 wickets in hand. But they managed just one boundary from that point onwards, and it simply wasn't enough. Brave's bowlers held their nerve superbly at the death, closing out another outstanding defence to seal the win.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Jemimah Rodrigues has been given the award for her knock of 32 runs off 22 balls. Jemimah starts by talking about the team and says that they somehow just manage to keep a calm head during tough times. Reckons that the surface was a bit tough to bat on but feels that the bowlers really did the job for them. On the dropped catch, she says that she had it in her grasp and just couldn't hold on, and reckons that sometimes catches like that one stick, and sometimes they don't.
Brave have done it again - They defended 126 in the campaign opener against Welsh Fire, and they have defended 126 once again. That's now three wins on the trot for Southern Brave, extending their league-stage winning streak to 11 matches, a run that started last season.
Can you believe it? The Brave have done it again. This team simply doesn't lose and Southern Brave Women manage to pip MI London Women by 1 run. A full toss from Bell, on the pads. Danni Wyatt-Hodge comes down the track and heaves it through mid-wicket and there's not much timing on it. Jemimah Rodrigues is quick to come in from the deep and fires in an accurate throw to the bowler. Bell collects it calmly and it will only be two runs.
SAFE! How costly is that fumble from Lizelle Lee going to be? If she collects it cleanly, Danni Wyatt-Hodge is gone and MI have to hit a six to win the game, but now, a four will do it for the visitors. Pace off from Bell again, outside off. Wyatt-Hodge comes down the track and hits it wide of deep cover. The batters scamper through for the second run as the fielder fires it in towards the keeper. It is a difficult one to take on the half-volley and Lee fumbles, allowing Danni to just make it back. FIFTY for Wyatt-Hodge as well, but she isn't bothered one bit and has eyes on the prize now.
Has Danni Wyatt-Hodge made it in? Lizelle Lee appears to have made a mess of it, and her reaction suggests she knows it.
Slower one from around the stumps, on a good length. Nicola Carey backs away but has to make her own pace as she slaps it through covers for another single.
Back of a length and on off, slower again. Wyatt-Hodge backs away and cuts it hard to deep point. Just a single. 7 needed now off 3 balls.
Should have gone for the single there. Slower one, full and on leg. Danni Wyatt-Hodge waits well and looks to heave it leg side but gets an inside edge behind. Lizelle Lee dives to her left and makes a half stop as the batters don't even try to go for the single.
Lauren Bell has been handed the task of bowling the final set. She has 7 runs to defend. Just a reminder, if the scores are level at the end of the 100 balls, there is no Super Five in the league stage. The match will finish as a tie, with both teams sharing the points.
Dragged length wide outside off, Carey comes down the pitch, swatting it square through covers for one. She looks for two but is sent back by her partner. 8 needed now off the final set.
FOUR! Carey just about manages to get some bat on it, and this could be a crucial boundary. Sophie Molineux goes for the straight yorker again and gets it nearly spot-on. Carey shuffles to the off side and inside-edges the sweep just past the leg stump and the ball rolls away into the fine leg fence.
Good innovation from Carey. Floated up on the pads, Carey goes for the reverse sweep and gets it just over the point region for a couple of runs.
Another huge cheer from the crowd as it is another dot ball. Full and straight, fired in at the stumps. Nicola Carey can only manage to jam it out.

OUT! CLEANED HER UP! The skipper backs herself and does the job for her side, at least for now. Speared in with the arm, yorker length and this one just darts back into the stumps. Chinelle Henry hangs back and the ball sneaks under the willow, making a mess of the stumps behind. MI London are now 112/3.
It is getting tense. Sophie Molineux to bowl the penultimate set.
That's a fine final set from Wong. Yet another knuckleball, bowled on a hard length around middle. Henry swings across the line but miscues it through mid on for one. 15 needed now off 10 balls.
Another knuckleball from Wong, bowled back of a length and around off. Henry looks to cut but chops it back onto the deck. There's also a huge cheer from the home crowd.
Marginally short on middle, swung away off the back foot down to wide long on for a single.
Good bowling. Another slower one, on a good length and angled well into the batter. Danni Wyatt-Hodge looks to make room and play it on the off side but gets cramped for room and fails to get it away.
The knuckleball ends up being a full toss on middle and it dips as well. Chinelle Henry clips it to deep mid-wicket and picks up a single.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! They simply had to have a look. Nicely tossed up, wide outside off, Hollie Armitage reaches for it and looks to go over covers. The ball grips and turns away with some extra bounce, just beating the outside edge. Lizelle Lee pouches it well and appeals for a caught behind, but it is turned down. The review is taken and UltraEdge shows a feather of an outside edge. Excellent from Lee and is there a late twist in the tale? 18 needed now from 15 balls.
Was there an edge? The umpire's finger has stayed down, but there was noise. It has been sent upstairs by Sophie Molineux. The UltraEdge comes up with a scratch, and the on-field decision will have to be overturned.
The googly now, around off, and punched away towards cover for a single.
FOUR! Making great use of the bottom hand. Flatter and fuller on off, Wyatt-Hodge steps out and smacks it back over the bowler's head for a boundary down to long off. Danni has done well to accelerate in the last few sets.
Shorter in length, over off and middle. Wyatt-Hodge rocks back and shovels the short-arm pull wide of long on. The batters push hard for two and a weak throw at the keeper's end allows them to do so with ease.
