A mixed outing - Thailand Women put in a superb effort with the ball, one that made everyone sit up and take notice. Even after the kind of start India had to their innings, they did not let their heads drop and fought hard in the second half to put the cat among the pigeons in the Indian camp. Coming to their batting effort, the challenge was made even tougher by the absence of their designated skipper, Naruemol Chaiwai, who was the standout in the campaign opener against Hong Kong, China. Nannapat Koncharoenkai showed plenty of intent despite wickets falling at the other end, and she was the lone bright spot with the bat.

Stumbled with the bat, but had enough - Fireworks from Shafali Verma had taken India to 101/2 at the halfway mark, and with the depth they had, a total around 200 seemed on the cards, but Thailand fought back superbly with the ball and in the field. India managed just 58 runs and lost 7 wickets in the second half of the innings to finish on 159. With the ball, it was a mixed-bag start from the pacers, but once the spinners came on, they tightened the screws and chipped away at the wickets.

India off to a winning start - Stumbled with the bat but the Women in Blue had enough quality with the ball to get the job done. It was an inspiring bowling display from Thailand, but with the bat, apart from Nannapat Koncharoenkai, there was not much to write home about. It was always going to be a tough ask against this Indian attack, but Thailand will be better for the experience and can take plenty of positives from the game.

Onnicha is keen for a single, and seeing that, Koncharoenkai also sets off for the run. Halfway through the run, both batters hesitate, and that leads to the downfall of Kamchomphu. Mandhana picks the ball up and scores a direct hit at the bowling end. The replays confirm that the two batters did not cross, and hence, Onnicha Kamchomphu is deemed to be the one dismissed.
